Every meaningful transformation begins with decisive action and an uncompromising vision for progress. Recognizing that the All People’s Congress (APC) in Kono District deserved a dignified, functional, and modern home, prominent party figure and philanthropist Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara, widely known as Jagaban, initiated a bold undertaking to completely redefine the district’s party infrastructure.
Observing that the former Kono APC District Office had long fallen into disrepair and no longer reflected the stature or aspirations of the membership, Jagaban took swift leadership. Rather than settling for cosmetic repairs, the decision was made to demolish the aging facility to clear the path for a modern, purpose-built headquarters.
The ongoing development is engineered to serve as a vibrant hub of engagement, strategy, and solidarity. Designed to accommodate district leadership, women’s wings, youth organizations, and grassroots supporters alike, the new center will provide a dignified environment for community dialogue, political organizing, and civic mobilization across the district.
On September 20, 2026, Jagaban arrived in Kono as part of his nationwide Development Impact Visit to conduct an on-site assessment of the construction works. During his inspection, he reviewed progress benchmarks, engaged with project engineers, and reaffirmed his dedication to delivering a state-of-the-art facility built to the highest architectural standards.
The demolition of the previous structure closed the chapter on decades of neglect, inaugurating a promising era of institutional renewal. This landmark project transcends brick and mortar; it represents an enduring investment in dignity, empowerment, and a resilient, forward-looking APC presence throughout Kono District.
