Sheik Alhaji Mohamed “Omodu” Kamara, widely known as Jagaban, recently donated $15,000 to the Mabohanday Union of Limba Indigenes during the organization’s 40th anniversary celebration in the United States. Jagaban, a prominent philanthropist, business leader, and influential figure within Sierra Leone’s main opposition party, the All People’s Congress (APC), was the guest of honour at the event.
The Mabohanday Union, composed of Limba descendants in the diaspora, is dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities in Sierra Leone through initiatives focused on education, health, and social welfare. Jagaban encouraged others to follow the Union’s example in giving back to society and commended their dedication to improving lives in Sierra Leone.
In his speech, Jagaban expressed admiration for the Union’s ongoing commitment to uplifting those in need and emphasized the importance of community service. The substantial donation from Jagaban is expected to significantly boost the Mabohanday Union, allowing them to expand their reach and impact. Union members expressed deep appreciation for Jagaban’s contribution, noting that it would enable them to address the challenges faced by the most vulnerable in Sierra Leone better.
