Kinghamman Road, Freetown, 02 July 2025 — In a moment of grace and generosity, Sheikh Alhaji Mohammed Omodu Kamara, fondly known as Jagaban, once again proved why he is hailed as “the People’s Champion.”

At a joyous ceremony held at the Women’s Vocational Training Center at Kinghamman Road, Jagaban donated NLe 200,000 to cover student fees and gifted 10 brand-new computers, 7 tailoring machines, and various kitchen utensils to the center. His generous gesture was met with cheers, tears of gratitude, and thunderous applause.

The Principal of the Center, Mr. Abdul Bangura, welcomed guests and introduced the executive board and staff. He praised the institution’s legacy of empowering women for over 30 years and celebrated the transformational impact of Jagaban’s support. Mr. Bangura declared:

“Jagaban, you are a rare kind of leader. You make promises—and you keep them. Sierra Leone is blessed to have you.”

As Jagaban stepped forward, the atmosphere became electric. With emotion in his voice, he said:

“My people, thank you for this warm welcome. I am here because I believe in women. You are the backbone of our homes, and I will always support you. Empowering people is in my DNA.”
His words moved the audience—students wept with joy, teachers clapped with pride, and the hall radiated hope.

The head girl of the institution, Ms. Margret Sayoh, with tears streaming down her face, offered the most heartfelt tribute of all:

“Papa Jagaban, what you have done today proves you are the right choice for Sierra Leone.⁷ Our families will remember this day forever. May God bless you with the leadership of this nation in 2028.”
